What got you into the automotive hobby?
Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars, I've enjoyed those since I'm able to hold one in my hand. Early on I acquired the ability to name almost any make and model I saw on the street, I'd sit on the stoop of my Grandparents house in NJ with my Grandfather, and name them for hours after he got off of work. This evolved into subscribing to most major car magazines by 5th grade, building a car with my Dad in high school, and attending car shows constantly...I still play with Matchbox and Hot Wheels with my 5 year old, however not always by his request.

What got you into the automotive hobby?
There are a number of things that got me into this addicting hobby. Though, as a kid, my mom and I spent lots of time at Bandimere Speedwayit wasn’t the quarter mile that pushed me into the hobby. Like Jared, Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars were a big part of growing up, but it was Gran Turismo and Need for Speed that really made this problem much worse. As I have dived deeper into the hobby, I have found that I enjoy the history of motor sport: rally, endurance racing, Formula 1 in the 1960’s and 70’s, etc.. I fell in love with Porsche because, well, they make the best stuff, but it started with a silly Need for Speed game that I spent way too much time on. It’s the same thing that made me fall in love with my 1986 944 Turbo. Something about the lines of that car make me unable to look away.

Cars I’ve owned:
1982 Subaru GL (316,000 miles), 1990 Honda Civic, 2002 Honda Accord, 1988 Mazda RX7, 2017 VW GTI

Current Vehicles:
2020 Ford Explorer ST, 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo
